"ESCAPING MENTAL ILLNESS." REGAINING YOUR LIFE BACK!

KXRW LONG BEACH CA, "YOUR COMMUNITY CONNECTION " PRESENTS... "GENAS GROOVE THEORY" @ 11:00 PM (PST) TONIGHT. ON THE THEORY... "ESCAPING MENTAL ILLNESS"... I have been planning, and actively getting out into the community to share my purpose and intention for change... Awareness is key! If my family would have never embarked into the struggle of life I honestly would have ever taken a glance at the people living on the streets, and dealing with mental illness and physical disabilities to say the least. But, as I have on many occasions at the City Hall meetings in defense of Department Of Mental Health services, I at one time felt as they did now back then before I was subjected to on the job harassment and intimidation and out right violation of my civil rights to work in an environment that I felt safe in. That was simply the fact... No I had no prior of knowledge remaining in that situation would lead me to suffer schizoid effective disorder, depression and panic anxiexty. And that it could lead to homelessness and other social dysfunctions. I was a strong, well educated out going supervisor. But, the woman that stood before them was no longer the confident self assured woman I was before. I have spoke frankly about mental illness on panels for the homeless to shed light. Simply, because at one time I had a good paying job, a home, children private school and the mentality that stereotyped and judged people based on what I thought was just a way to get out of working and providing for themselves... I didnt even believe in anxiety attacks, even though two family members claimed to have it, but I doubted the fact that it even existed. And I thought of it as a excuse to not work!
